Identity verification
Anybody can issue a pretty PDF. We don't. Every Ewance credential is signed and anchored on-chain — and the only way that signature is worth anything is if we actually know who we issued it to. So we verify, every time.
Why we verify
Three reasons we don't skip the identity step.
Every Ewance credential is signed by us and recorded on-chain via LearnCoin. The signature is meaningless if we don't actually know who's on the other end.
The name on the credential is the person who shipped it. Identity-checked once, attached to every future credential — nobody else gets to claim what you built.
Without identity, a one-click verify only confirms the work exists — not that it was done by the person on the resume. Identity is what closes that gap.
Why we're strict
Credentials issued from a verified Ewance account are recorded on-chain via LearnCoin. Allowing name mismatches — even tiny ones — would erode the trust that gives those credentials value.
What it involves
You verify once when you start. Every credential you earn after that inherits the same identity proof.
Immatrikulationsbescheinigung in Germany — equivalents accepted worldwide. We extract the name + university, you confirm.
Stripe Identity hosts the document scan + selfie face-match. We never see the raw images — we only get the verification result.
The name on your enrolment must match your government ID (with a tolerance for transliteration). Tiny edits are surfaced for you to confirm.
What we don't do
Stripe Identity holds your document scan and selfie. We get the pass/fail + the verified name, nothing else.
No advertising network, no broker, no third-party trackers in the verification flow. Same posture across the platform.
Your enrolment certificate is retained only as long as needed to issue and audit credentials. Encrypted at rest, deletable on request.
If the name on your enrolment doesn't match your ID, we don't issue. No exceptions — the whole point is the credential survives scrutiny.
Recruiter? Verify a credential
No Ewance account, no sign-in. The check runs against the on-chain record — works even if Ewance is offline.
Free for students forever. The verification step takes ~10 minutes — once. Every credential you earn after that inherits it.
